Roots and Currents: The Favén Artistic family

Roots and Currents: The Favén Artistic Family What does it mean to inherit, sustain, and reinvent a creative life over three generations? Our upcoming exhibition, Roots and Currents, explores the living pulse of the Favén family’s artistry. Moving beyond a traditional chronological display, we invite you to experience a dialogue between the past and the present—from the foundational relics of Antti Favén to the evolving abstractions of Mauri Favén, culminating in the ethereal mobiles and jewelry of Aino Favén. This exhibition is about more than a collection of works; it is an investigation into the threads that bind a family of makers. We look at the tools of the trade—brushes, palettes, and sketchbooks—alongside finished artworks to offer glimpses into the human stories behind the history.
At the intersection of the stillness of oil paintings and the movement of contemporary mobiles, we ask: What makes it possible to carry on artistry from generation to generation? Join us as we set the intergenerational table. Stay tuned for opening dates and more behind-the-scenes insights.
