Ying-Hsiu Chen . Artist

Ying-Hsiu Chen, a talented jewelry designer from Taiwan, completed both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in her home country. Her extraordinary skill in jewelry design was recognized internationally with her selection for SCHMUCK in 2013 and The 7th Cheongju International Craft Competition. Additionally, she garnered the 2nd Best Overall Award at the 2013 ITAMI Contemporary Jewellery Exhibition.
Born in Penghu, a quaint island southwest of Taiwan, Ying-Hsiu's childhood was deeply connected to nature, with the beach serving as her sanctuary. Surrounded by the sea, she drew immense creative inspiration from the beauty of Mother Nature.
Her artworks have garnered attention from prestigious institutions, including being collected by the Museo degli Argenti in Florence, Italy, and the Gold Museum in New Taipei City, Taiwan, as well as by numerous private collectors worldwide.

Scenery in My Mind Series . initiated in 2013, is a testament to her lifelong bond with the ocean. Having grown up near the sea, Ying-Hsiu developed a deep connection with the ocean, with frequent beach visits being a cherished part of her life. This proximity to the sea from her early years has been a vital source of learning and artistic inspiration.

In her artistic process, Chen engages in careful observation of natural objects, capturing their essence to incorporate into her art. Her innovative approach in jewelry involves microscopic sculpture, creating a unique style. Drawing from her experiences and the unique qualities of local materials, she captures the essence of scenes and emotions that resonate with her. Her work not only recreates nature but also reconnects with its intrinsic beauty, offering a sanctuary for her soul where her deepest inspirations come to life and where nature and creativity harmoniously interplay.

The series is divided into two parts: Art Jewelry and art objects, each reflecting different facets of her artistic journey.
